Parkes Shire has a variety of early learning providers who can nurture and support your little ones through their development.

Project Sprouts

Residents within the Parkes Shire have access to Project Sprouts, a community-led initiative supported by Neighbourhood Central. Project Sprouts is a referral service linking families and educators to paediatric health providers for children aged four and five. The service aims to improve developmental outcomes for children before they start school.

Central West Family Day Care

Central West Family Day Care is a council-operated childcare service that provides personalised, flexible, quality care for children aged 0 to 12. 

All educators and staff are qualified and experienced to provide excellent support to the ranging needs of their students.

Central West Family Day Care Scheme is an Approved Community Service of Parkes Shire Council, regulated by the NSW Education and Communities - Early Childhood Education and Care Directorate. The Scheme is an accredited service with a rating of "MEETING" the National Quality Standards under the National Quality Framework, Assessment and Ratings process. The Department of Education and Training funds the program.

All personal information held by Family Day Care is kept and used following the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998.

Central West Family Day Care is provided in Parkes, Forbes, Condobolin and surrounding districts.

Bangala-La Preschool

Bangala-la preschool operates during NSW school terms, catering for children 3-5 years of age and focusing on preparing children for primary school.

Bangala-la preschool's approach fosters community engagement and inclusion, enhancing the experiences for all families- developing links and supporting cultural identities. Staff at Bangala-La are passionate about providing experiences that motivate children to construct, enquire, explore, challenge, experiment and investigate the world around them.

Bangala-la is an Approved Community Service of Parkes Shire Council, regulated by the NSW Education and Communities - Early Childhood Education and Care Directorate, funded by the Department of Education and Training.

Parkes Early Childhood Centre Inc.

Parkes Early Childhood Centre Inc.Parkes Early Childhood Centre (PECC) is a high-quality, not-for-profit, community-based centre that provides early childhood programs for children from birth to 5 years old.

PECC provides long and short-day (preschool) programs:

• Long-day program: Operates 7 am to 6 pm, approx. 50 weeks per year (birth to 5 years)

• Short-day program: Operates 8.30 am to 4 pm during school terms (3 to 5 years)

PECC is responsive to children’s strengths, interests and developmental needs and fosters strong and caring relationships with families and the broader community.

PECC celebrates a highly-qualified and experienced teaching team and supports the children in developing life skills and confidence to succeed in this complex and ever-changing world.

Community Kids Parkes Early Education Centre

Community Kids Early Education Centre in Parkes provides a fun and engaging early learning experience with age-appropriate resources and environments for every child.

Community Kids Early Education Centre provides healthy meals and snacks created daily by our in-house cook, catering for all dietary requirements. Shared mealtimes between children and educators grow relationships, with opportunities to share stories and experiences and model healthy eating practices. 

All educators are up to date with their first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training and completing additional learning modules to assist in creating the best learning experience for your little ones. 

Community Kids Parkes Early Education Centre offers a preschool program to ensure each child feels supported during their school transition. With a focus on language, literacy, numeracy and social skills to help children become school ready.

Victoria Street Children's Centre

Victoria Street Children’s Centre is a quality early education centre, open from 7:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday. It caters to children from birth to twelve years.

Victoria Street Children’s Centre provides nutritious meals daily, including morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, and nappies for our family’s convenience.

The centre provides an outdoor playscape to encourage interaction and growth through different experiences and promotes natural environments and sustainability.

The centre encourages play-based learning, and our experienced and qualified educators provide programs based on the Early Years Learning Framework. A bachelor-qualified teacher conducts a specialised school readiness program to prepare children for school.

Parkes PCYC OOSH

OOSH (Out of School Hours) is a government-subsidised after-school and vacation care program for children from kindergarten to year 6, inclusive. Operating hours are 3 pm to 6 pm during school term, and 8.30 am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday in school holiday periods.

During this time, children are involved in various organised games and activities, including physical and creative aspects. Time is provided for them to select their activities or catch up with old and new friends.

Children are constantly supervised by PCYC staff supervise the children, all of whom have had Working with Children Checks completed.

Carewest Preschool at Middleton

LiveBetter currently has a Preschool based at Middleton Public School. This is a service available to our families and the wider community. The building is situated at the back of the school and provides a preschool atmosphere in a friendly and safe environment. Times and days for children are listed below;

9:00am - 3:00pm

Monday and Tuesdays - 4-5 years children

Wednesday and Thursday - 3-4 years children
